Thank you for visiting the Boston Striker’s website. We are a non-profit, social organization, which provides an opportunity for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight people to learn and to improve their soccer skills in a relaxed, congenial environment.
This year we will be traveling to Cologne, Germany July 31 – August 7 to take part in the Gay Games VIII. The Gay Games is the largest sports and cultural event in the world with some 12,000 participants from 70 countries. (For more information on Cologne, visit the website: http://www.gaygames.net/index.php?id=222)
The Strikers are traveling to Germany to defend the Division 2 Gold Medal that we won at the last Gay Games in Chicago in 2004!
Make sure to check out the exciting final results on the Gay Games Chicago website: http://www.gaygameschicago.org/sports/home.php
Our players are saving money, working extra shifts, and doing all they can to pay for this trip of a lifetime. Our fundraising goal is to provide airfare for a roster of 18. To send the team will cost us approximately $18,000. If you feel that you can contribute to this effort, please attend one of our fabulous scheduled fundraisers, or to make a donation online, please click here.
We know that we are nothing without our local support. We are proud to be part of the vibrant LGBT, straight, and allied community of Boston and greater New England.
We offer you our heartfelt thanks!
